David Gilmour and Nick Mason have released a track to show support for Ukraine. They put it out under the name Pink Floyd. Its a result of Gilmour's stance on the Russian invasion and having played with a set a few years ago with Andriy Khlyvnyuk, frontman of Ukrainian rock band BoomBox. Khlyvnyuk has since joined the resistance army in Ukraine and was injured by a mortar. That's when Gilmour caught up with him and the facetime collaborative effort was born.
The resulting track is Hey Hey, Rise Up!, a new single by Pink Floyd that samples Khlyvnyuk’s performance, to be released at midnight on Friday with proceeds going to Ukrainian humanitarian relief.

Gilmour was asked about Roger Waters and his stance on the invasion and some of Waters' statements. It’s a subject on which Gilmour won’t be drawn into. “Let’s just say I was disappointed and let’s move on. Read into that what you will.”
