This stuff is important....don't be "that guy."
All across America -- in gyms, playgrounds and cul-de-sacs -- guys are getting together for pick-up basketball games. In many cases, guys don't even know anyone they're playing with or against.
It's as easy as just driving around looking for an odd number of guys on a basketball court.
But, like every other social gathering, there are some rules of etiquette to follow at the pick-up basketball game.
-
Don't wear shiny new basketball clothes or an NBA jersey. You're not a pro.
-
Never take your shirt off.
-
Don't try to impress the other players with your knowledge of basketball. Keep your mouth shut and just play.
-
Know your skill level. Don't try to do things you know you can't do.
-
If you're having a bad game, do try to convince everybody that you usually play much better or that you used to be a great player.
-
Don't cheat.
-
Don't talk trash.
-
Play good defense, but don't get too aggressive.
-
Don't be a tool.
-
If you're a newcomer to a group that's played together before, play by their rules.
-
Don't call soft fouls. You got tapped on your elbow while shooting? Leave it alone and move on.

TERRIBLE SITUATIONS FOR SOCIALLY AWKWARD GUYS
Some guys are easy-going. They're totally able to work their way into and through any social situation. And, they probably take this ability for granted.
And then, there are those unlucky, socially awkward guys who just don't know how to handle certain situations, which causes a lot of stress.
Here's a rundown of some terrible situations for socially awkward guys:
- Getting a Massage -- Getting a massage means being mostly naked while getting intensely rubbed by a complete stranger. If you couldn't control your thoughts (and your intimate physiology), this would be a nightmare.
- Standing Next to Someone at a Urinal -- There are some guys who are NOT socially awkward who have trouble with this one.
- Yoga Class -- Women all around you in tights are gracefully performing stretching exercises while you sweat and struggle to not topple over. Very difficult to look cool here. Very difficult to blend in.
- Spending Time With Someone Else's Baby -- If you don't have the strength and confidence to hold a baby, having someone thrust a baby in your face is enough to make you want to run away screaming. (Cracked.com)
