Even though Axl Rose doesn't want to go into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, he'll still be inducted with the rest of Guns N' Roses Saturday night in Cleveland. The Rock Hall issued a statement saying, "We are sorry Axl will not be able to accept his induction in person." The only other artist to decline an induction was The Sex Pistols in 2006. Ex-Guns N' Roses members Slash, Duff McKagan, Steven Adler and Matt Sorum are planning to be on hand to be inducted by Green Day.

The rest of the ceremony will feature:

Red Hot Chili Peppers inducted by Chris Rock. The band will perform, and is expected to be joined by former drummer Jack Irons and Cliff Martinez.

Beastie Boys inducted by Chuck D and L.L. Cool J.

Donovan inducted by John Mellencamp. They'll also perform together.

Faces/Small Faces will be inducted by E Street Band guitarist Steve Van Zandt. The Faces (Rod Stewart, Ron Wood, Ian McLagan and Kenney Jones) will perform.

ZZ Top's Billy Gibbons and Dusty Hill will induct Freddie King, and perform in King's honor with Joe Bonamassa and Derek Trucks.

Laura Nyro will be inducted by Bette Midler.

Don Kirshner will be inducted by Carole King. Darlene Love will perform in Kirshner's honor.

Tom Dowd and Glyn Johns will be inducted by Robbie Robertson.

The Blue Caps, the Comets, the Crickets, the Famous Flames, the Midnighters and the Miracles will be inducted by Smokey Robinson. Unfortunately, Jerry Allison won't be at the ceremony.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's class of 2012 will be inducted tomorrow (Saturday) in Cleveland, and leading the way are The Small Faces / Faces, Guns n' Roses, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Donovan, Laura Nyro and The Beastie Boys. Today we preview The Small Faces, which morphed into The Faces:

  • They'll be inducted by E Street Band guitarist Steven Van Zandt. This will be the fourth time he's done the induction honors, after The Rascals in 1997, booking agent Frank Barsalona in 2005 and The Hollies in 2010.

  • Those being inducted are drummer Kenney Jones, late bassist Ronnie Lane, keyboardist Ian McLagan, late guitarist Steve Marriott, singer Rod Stewart and guitarist Ronnie Wood. All but Stewart and Wood were in The Small Faces, and Marriott was only in The Small Faces.

  • The Small Faces came together in 1965 and became The Faces in 1969 when Steve Marriott left to form Humble Pie and was replaced by Rod Stewart and Ronnie Wood from The Jeff Beck Group. The band broke through in the U.S. when Stewart and Woody joined, scoring with such hits as "Stay With Me," "Ooh La La," "Cindy Incidentally" and "(I Know) I'm Losing You." But Stewart's solo career and Woody's departure for The Rolling Stones spelled the end for The Faces in 1975. Marriott reformed The Small Faces in 1976 with Jones and McLagan, and that resulted in two albums before they went their separate ways in 1978. Jones then joined The Who following the death of Keith Moon.

  • The Faces reunited in 2010 for select dates with Simply Red's Mick Hucknall on vocals. However, tomorrow night's reunion with Stewart has raised hope that they'll do more work together, minus the late Ronnie Lane. The Faces are scheduled to play three songs at the induction -- "Stay With Me," "Ooh La La" and most likely "What'cha Gonna Do About It" by The Small Faces.

  • This will be the second induction for Woody, who went in with the Stones in 1989, and for Stewart, a 1994 inductee for his solo work.

Twisted Sister frontman Dee Snider says Axl Rose is "screwed up" for snubbing Guns n' Roses' induction tomorrow (Saturday) night into the Rock and Roll Hal of Fame. Speaking to former Guns' guitarist Slash Wednesday in Los Angeles at the Golden God Awards, Snider said, "If he can't put this stuff aside for an event like that, for a recognition like that, to do the cool thing, and just in respect of what you guys have done, I think it's totally screwed up."

Axl has stated a number of reasons for his decision not to attend, including that the ceremony "doesn't appear to be somewhere I'm actually wanted or respected." Among the former members who will be attending are Slash, Duff McKagan, Steven Adler and Matt Sorum. --Sal Cirrincione
